Meat Balls Recipes

serves 6 pple
80g white bread without crust, torn into pcs
100ml Milk
1tbsp ghee
120 finely chopped onion
1 and quarter tsp salt
400g minced beef
300g minced pork
3 large egg yolks
half tsp black pepper
quarter tsp ground allspice
2 tbsps ghee
40g plain flour
750g beef broth or chicken stock
125ml thickened cream

Method
-preheat oven 180 degreec
-Place bread slices and milk in a mixing bowl. Set aside
-In a frying pan heat 1 tbsp ghee and saute the onion and a pinch of salt until the onions are soft. -Remove from the heat and set aside.
-In the bowl containing bread and milk, add minced beef and pork, egg yolks, remaining salt, black pepper, all spice and onions. Beat on medium speed for 1 to 2 min or knead well for 10 min
weight meatball into 30g portions and shape into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet
-Bake in the oven for 20 min.
-Heat the remaining gee in the pan over low heat and add the flour.
-Whisk until lightly browned, approx 1 to 2 min. Gradualy add the beef or chicken stock and whisk until sauce begins to thicken.
-Add the cream and continue to cook unti lthe gravy reaches the desired consistency. Remove the meatballs from the oven, cover with the gravy and serve.
